District Youth Retreat 2020 IS HERE!!!!!!
This year, our theme is "Whatever It Takes" and is a focus on each of us living on mission for Christ, whatever it takes. It will be a rich time of spiritual growth and personal development into a deeper life in Christ. Below are some details about the camp and what to expect. This event is open to all 6th- 12th graders. If you would like to participate as a work-crew member, your cost is free (though you will have to help serve the students at the camp via kitchen detail, activites helpers, etc.).
We will meet at the Church on Friday at 1 PM and leave for the camp. Its about 5-6 hours away so we will be stopping for dinner. Please send $5 a student to help with dinner cost. We will return around 8 PM on Sunday at the Church. Dinner on the way home from DYR is covered.
What do we do at DYR?
ZIpline, Ropes Course, Rock Wall, 30' Swing, Swimming, Sports Tournaments, EAT, Worship, and grow. There is so much to do at DYR that if you leave and you didnt enjoy the weekend it was your own fault. Seriously, its an amazing weekend and one that you will remember for years to come. Over the weekend, we will gather for meals as a group at the Dining Hall and in the Spring Center for our Sessions. Lots of music and lights there!
How much does it cost?
$175 per student. This is set by the camp and includes just enough to cover our expenses for the trip. If this cost is high, speak with Pastor David to discuss options.
How do I register?
Click this LINK and fill out the form. You will need to also fill our the student registration form for the student ministry if you have not do so. That form is HERE. Once you do that, have the money to Pastor David by April 8th.
Where is it at?
DYR is held at Young Life's Rockbridge Alum Springs Camp in Virginia. This massive property is one of the finest camps in the mid-atlantic region. Lodges support all of the students with most groups, typically, having their own suite (beds, bathrooms, and showers).
